Grammy-nominated Nigerian-American singer, producer, and mentor born and raised in Inglewood, California. Meaku has been consistently acquiring global aficionadas with his blended style of traditional and contemporary R&B fused with afrobeat and pop coining his unique “Hybrid Vibes” musical genre.
Meaku made his debut with his hit song “She Like it” featuring Glasses Malone in 2010. In 2012 he executive produced the “Still LV” album for Grammy-winning artist LV of the legendary single “Gangsta’s Paradise.” The album was released in Japan, where he also collaborated vocally on hits like “Memories,” and “Twisted,” while co-producing, recording and mixing the entire album. 2016 lead Meaku releasing his first official studio Album “Rooted (EP)” with hits including “All I See Is You,” “Original Somebody,” and “Study Your Body” featuring the Queen of afro-house “Niniola,” garnering over 5 million streams on Spotify. In 2020, Meaku released his hit single “Show Dem” with Nigerian Superstar the “Kukere” crooner Iyanya. In the same year Meaku released his sophomore album “Hybrid Vibes Vol. 1” which included “Addicted,” “Rewind,” produced by top Nigerian producer “Masterkraft,” and “You Don’t Know,” featuring “Iskaba” singer “Wande Coal.” In 2021, Meaku collaborated with LA rapper T.F. and Local Astronauts for the “Skanless Summer” album, on the song “Big Game James,” featured on Revolt’s 2021 11 Top Rap Albums.
Meaku released his chart topping hit, “I’m That Dude,” in 2022 peaking at #1 in Estonia (World Music Charts), hit single “On My Way,” peaking at #155 in the United States (World Music Charts), also featured on CNN Africa, and the beautiful blend of Hybrid Vibes Vol. 2 album. In November of 2022, he featured on “Gimme Some More” with Award Winning Nigerian producer Fliptyce, and Nigerian Superstar Yemi Alade, becoming the first Afrobeat NFT to be released via www.Royal.io, allowing fans access to buy shares from the song making them partners to share royalties from streaming, along with special access.
